9/11 caskets

Campaign ad shows 9/11 caskets

TOPICS: Campaign News; Issues
KEYWORDS: 911; advertising; caskets
Liberals are now complaining that Pres. Bush's use of flag-draped caskets from 9/11 in the current ad campaign hypocritically uses the tragedy for political gain whereas he previously prohibited the showing of flag-draped caskets from Iraq in dispatches from the war.

I just don't get this. Why should there be a problem remembering the deaths of 3,000 Americans to win re-election and win the global war on terror? Isn't that a heck of a lot different from hiding the fact of dead American soldiers, which could then make a squeamish public withhold their support for the war in Iraq? Dems have been saying for months there is no relationship between 9/11 and Iraq, yet now they seem to be making one. What hypocrisy!!

If the President's response to the deadliest attack on our nation in its history is not a matter of debate, then we might as well call off the whole election.

I have no idea how you call hypocritical complaints about Bush using ground zero in the campaign ad vs caskets in Iraq.

The people originally complaining about the ad are Families Of Those Who Died on 9/11. I personally think such an ad is a bit to far over the top. There are other ways to get his message across. Perhaps pictures of Bush's flight from "danger" (the six hours spent in the air flying to Omaha then DC) or the stammering first speech after the attacks where he looked completely out of his element would be more appropriate.

Nasty John the Waffling French Undertaker, who is behind the atatacks on GWB's 9/11 ad, per the American Spectator.

Kerry, who is personally endorsed by Yasser Arafat, Haiti's Aristide, Iran's Mullahs, Traitor "Red Jane" Fonda, Kim Jong Il, (& Kim Il Jong), Mugabe, Marxist thug Chavez of Venezuela, Castro of Cuba, & France's Jacques Chirac, is a weapon of mass economic destruction.

He'll destroy the troops in Iraq, the War on Terrorism,

& the U.S. stock market with all his negative talk and whiny-leftist-liberal sour-puss troop-bashing, Bush-bashing, America-bashing talk & self-aggrandizing, ultra-negative sourpuss whiny elitist personality.

When you have nothing to fault you have to create a problems where none exists. Thus this cooked up opposition to the ads. When this little story is trotted out by the liberal media, they fail to note that Clinton is the one who issued the order that the bodies of servicement would not be shown. Bush is just following past precedent. They're mad because they don't have film of the returning coffins so they can put them in THEIR ads.

Nice try. Imagine that, the President didn't have a rehearsed, prepared speech in case someone murdered 3,000 Americans. He should have been "out of his element". Even Bush-hating morons had to admit he delivered outstanding leadership in the weeks and months that followed. A lot of idiots (like Peter Jennings on 9/11) think the Presidency is a TV show. They think the President's key role that day was to reassure the People. We were in the opening hours of a war on our own soil and grappling with that was a lot more important than looking pretty on TV.

As for your cheap shot about picture of him flying on Air Force One, the Republican Party was selling pictures of the President on the phone, on AF1 that day. Whiners complained then too. You were probably one of them.

Franklin Roosevelt used the attack on Pearl Harbor in his 1944 campaign. He went directly from the DemocRAT convention in California to Pearl Harbor where he had photo-op meetings with lots of high ranking admirals and generals including Douglas McArthur.

Twenty people out of at least 20,000; that's a miniscule proportion. Also, they were linked to some of the organizations Teresa Heinz funds from her own funds and from the Heinz trusts.
