Rogers surpasses $900,000 raised.
His bid to unseat Patrick Kennedy is supported by over 30,000 contributors.
Providence, RI: Republican Congressional candidate and former U.S. Navy SEAL Dave Rogers announced today that his campaign for the United States House of Representatives has raised $902,387 so far for the 2004 election cycle. His bid to unseat Patrick Kennedy is supported by over 30,000 contributors.
I am extremely proud that my campaign has raised over $900,000 for this election. I believe that this shows that I have the level of support and backing to defeat Patrick Kennedy in November 2004. Rogers said The outpouring of support I have received is both humbling and heartwarming.
As a former U.S. Navy SEAL, I know the value of hard work and the honor of service. I am committed to working hard, winning this race and serving the great people of Rhode Island. Rogers continued Rhode Islanders deserve a representative who is willing to work for them.
Rogers, 38, a decorated combat veteran and former U.S. Navy SEAL, lives in Portsmouth with his wife Nancy and their two children Patrick, 9 and Scott, 7. Rogers won a three way primary and was the Republican nominee for RI-1 in 2002.

900k is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, he's already spent $780,000 -- probably mostly to pay off campaign debt from the previous cycle?

More than 30k donors and less than 1MM raised equals average donation size around $30. It is >very< expensive to raise money in such small increments, particularly when you do it with national mass mails to conservative lists, and on-line credit card donations (which carry huge fees in addition to the consultants' bite).
Sadly enough, the only efficient way to raise money is a series of Washington, New York, Houston, Dallas, etc. dinners with 100 people at $1,000 a plate...

Perhaps big campaign dinners raise a lot, but every bit helps. What I do is send small amounts whenever I can to candidates I really want to see win.
In the case of Dave Rogers, he got my latest ten bucks sent in the mail yesterday.

God bless and good luck to Dave Rogers. This race is one I'll be watching closely this year.

Welcome to FR Art! From one Rhodie to another!
Rogers needs to start trumpeting Patches sound bites from the last few years. Most memorably, when he was at a Howard Dean rally, and said "I've never worked a f**king day in my life!". Remember that one?
Hopefully Rogers remembers it too.

Yes, Dave Rogers, and a bunch of other Republicans need to learn the lesson that going easy on liberal candidates gets you nowhere. The liberal candidates need to be hit hard and made responsible for every word they say and every motion they go through.
