The Tennessean is having trouble getting this information from the authorities; a bed was the primary location of the blaze and it is reasonable to assume that the occupant of this bed was burned; however, this is being very diplomatically sidestepped, since one of the dead women was the mother of a newly-elected Councilman and another was the mother of a Fire Chief.

The initial investigation points to wiring, either in the bed itself or an extension cord or a power strip.

The courts have enjoined the investigation at this point.

If you want to read all the articles (or as much as it left available) go to

The fire department is convinced that a working sprinkler would have extinguished the intitial fire and probably have limited the casualties to that room.

For whatever reason, I can't seem to post a link to the Tennessean; it is Tennessean.com.
