I've used an E-Machines "E-Slate" K6 III HEAVILY for three years now, with no problems.
It was right under $1000 when I bought it new at Costco, and hasn't given me a spot of trouble. It's travelled all over the country with me.
That's the only E-Machine anecdote I can supply. Don't know about their other machines.

I have an e-machine that looks like an I-Mac. I got it before they were sued by McIntosh and they were all pulled off the market. I've had it for many years, and I LOVE IT, though once I did have to get the hard drive replaced...

I know one person with an E machine, and he loves it Like I said, they're ok for low end computers.I did eventully fried my power supply.I had to fabricate brackets to add another harddrive.Upgraded everything else till I couldn't go anymore.Used it for three and a half years. The case I bought now has all the room I want to add stuff.I have a KT400A LAN Party motherboard with RAID IDE slots and can run 6 harddrives if I choose and add up to 3 Gigs of RAM.E machines are OK,but what you see is what you get.
