I was prescribed Vicoden last year for a painful complaint. I can see how easy it would be to abuse drugs, but if I had too much to lose (ie) kids in college, church, family all affected, as a rationale to not give in to temptation- it absolutely blows my mind how Rush- with "Talent on loan from God" and a very good sense of his own importance, could not also see the devastating effects of giving in to mind numbing non-reality.
In particular, when one is paid millions of dollars to do what one loves to do- why would anyone jeopardize that? This part of Rush's story rings especially true. My dad loved to fly. After retiring from the Air Force after 24 years, he would pay to rent a plane to fly until he found employment in his dream job- as a personal pilot. He gave up alcohol to be ready to fly at a moment's notice. So why would Rush jeopardize that- especially when so many lovely, single malt alternatives are so readily available...and legal.
No. Something is rotton in the Palm Beach branch of the State of Florida attorney's office. Here in Jax, democrat Harry Shorstein is the State's Attorney. I am assuming Palm Beach is even more left wing. I am going to wait for official statements from Charlie Christ's office.
