V-6 anything doing 90 surprises me. LOL! I want the "grunt" of 8 cylinders .... or more.

Sounds like maybe the trooper that pulled up beside y'all has maybe been in (or is in now) the National Guard himself, and knows about Humvees. hehe!

Well, I've gotten 4 cylinder engined vehicles to runa constant 80 on the Thruway. (I-87)
You have to go that fast, the little ol' ladies will run you down, and the troopers will run you off.

The humvee is a horrifically loud vehicle too.
But, being in artillery at the time, the humvee's noise was the least of our worries.
There's a sticker on the interior that states that hearing protection should be worn while operating the vehicle.
(Yeah, and not be able to hear someone honking at you..)

My personal feeling on it is that he knew we had no idea how fast we were going, and that he was pulling our legs.
I think 60 maybe 68 was our real speed.
But, you never know.
It was a V-6 afterall.
I'd have loved it if he had used his radar gun and let us see what it said.
I heard what he yelled, but I was in the back where you can't see.
Carlson was pretty shook up by it.
He slowed down and looked rather, well, surprised.
