Yeah, I's got flamed for bringing up that RFID reader/rewriter tech could be built into appliances and can be built to use Wi-Fi or any nearby wireless network.
Makes me think back to the 'internet appliance' of a few years back.
It's been studied, they're just waiting to install snoop gear in our possessions.
All teh better to offer us more stuff to buy, and keep us complacent and spied on.
But that's not how it is presented.
I still remember the presentation on RFID military dog tags.
First step is simply an RFID readable normal dog tag.
The 'next' step would be an implanted 'biometric' RFID chip.
(Even though 'biometric' is a term used for using physical characteristics to ID someone. It was used by some clown to describe implantable chips as well..)
