I liked spanged because it sounded a little like something else. You mention being glad to be on the list, how do you feel about the opt-in vs. opt-out option? With opt-in, you can let her know you're glad and stay in. With opt-out, everybody that didn't want it in the first place has to respond.

Opt-in can require some tricky timing, avoiding weekends and other periods when those pinged can overlook one invite in their invite [I've sometimes had 200+ posts and pings in my in-box on the day following a three-day weekend, for instance] and opt-out has worked okay on the technically related and specialized ping lists I'm on. But that requires making it real clear who to ping if you do want off the list.
