Is it honestly realistic to expect that you will get 3 months notice before you're deployed? I know people who got less than a weeks notice.

I have a list of all of my known training deployments for the next year. And there are over 45 days in the next 6 months that I have duty. As far as real-world deployments to a wartime theater, I can only expect 22 hours notice. But chef understands that. It's the known ones that he wants to schedule. If it's a regular war-time deployment, I'll quit so he can hire someone else, because of how long I would be gone.
