    Good Morning!
Hurricane Isabel swept into the N. Carolina coast a little after noon, yesterday, Sept. 18, and then set a nw. course thru the Virginias, Maryland, Pennsylvania and NY.
Millions in the eastern part of the country are affected, and folks, it is a mess out there.
Prayers offered for all those affected, those rescuers and emergency responders, those utility people, and those in authority who'll be dealing with the aftermath of the storm for weeks ahead.

Yes....the last time I check the Isabel thread late last night, as Interesting Times was posting - he lives in n. Virginia - a tree limb crashed into a second story b.r. No one hurt, and the FReeper Gabz (sp) who I think lives on Virginia's e. shore, hadn't posted for awhile.
We've had heavy rains since about 10 p.m. Well, the rains come in bands of heaviness....

It's funny, but when the Chair and I made this arrangement, we only talked about today. Nothing about tomorrow, as if we expected the power would be restored by then!!
So I'll plan on starting the weekend thread, and we can take it from there.

Good Morning Molly! Thanks for starting the thread this morning!!
As bad as Isabel was (she was a big storm to say the least!!) it could have been so much worse had she stayed a Cat 5 level storm.
Prayers to all who have been affected by this storm!

Good morning, Molly! I can't seem to find any stories posted about the storm on FR. O guess I will go read my local paper on liine and see if they have the AP report.
Son got back from Pittsburgh yesterday evening. He left intentionally ahead of the rain, and was crossing into Ohio before the storm moved into Pennsylvania.

Just heard a PSA on Fox,, asking the public for donations to the Red Cross.

I hope everyone remembers the Red Cross DID NOT dedicate all the money they raised from 9-11 to that event. They tried to hoard the money for later disaster events. If it hadn't been for "Bill O'Arrogant" they would have spent even less on the 9-11 victims than was eventually expended.

You should see the HUGE, new, fancy hdqrs. the Red Cross built in town. It definitely needed a new building, but...???

And as if Isabel wasn't bad enough, we also had that fat, blovaiting, festering pile of used bovine food, teddy "the fat windbag" kennedy spewing this garbage yesterday:
"There was no imminent threat. This was made up in Texas, announced in January to the Republican leadership that war was going to take place and was going to be good politically. This whole thing was a fraud," Mr. Kennedy said.
"My belief is this money is being shuffled all around to these political leaders in all parts of the world, bribing them to send in troops," he said.
So this pompas, arrogant ass is now accusing the President of bribery!!!
What's the matter teddy, did Isabel cause all the bars and liquor stores to close early?
Just when you think the RATs have gotten as far down in the sewer as they possibly can...they start digging.

Good morning...Winds are picking up here now too...my storm door was snapped...have to figure out how to put the "arm" back on...lost a chunk of wood from the door frame.

But that seems to be the least of it.

You know, they act like they have flat-out lost their minds. Brian Kilmeade was actively speaking against Kennedy this morning on Fox, refuting this disgusting statement.
It is amazing to me that Kennedy hasn't suffered a stroke or a heart attack given his physical condition and life style. The devil takes care of his own, I guess.

Rivendell, when I first started reading your post, I thought sure it was Two Thirds!! LOL!

    Here's the
Isabel thread........it's a continuation of yesterday's.

No brain..no stroke. No heart...no heart attack. And as for his physical condition...well, let's just say if his body were a building (yeah I know, it's big enough to be) it would long ago have been condemed. Heck, I'll bet even the roaches wouldn't live there!!!

GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Whew! The BIG one missed us and sure am glad. Believe me, you do NOT want to go thru a 5 storm.

News coverage was fair. The reporters stayed near the hotel and one female type lady repoter got to pointing out the little picket fence on the sand dunes for news, sheesh.

Saw a report on the unemployed, it has improved and this is BAD news for the democracts. They are getting some bad news and so, it will be back on slamming the war.

We are living in some trying times my friends but look what we did in the 40's, took a little time but we won. It is going to be the same all over again. The stakes are higher, the enemy are plenty but we will win. Have faith in God and keep the prayers going for OUR President W, for our troops, for the 'in charge' folks and of course, for the elderly, I can recall the days when WE were THE front lines but age has a way of curtailing such so we depend on you younger folks, you got the know how and I know you have the will.
