INTERCOURSE, Pennsylvania (AP) -- The front of an Amish buggy may seem an unlikely place to find state-of-the-art Silicon Valley innovation.
But developments in light-emitting diode (LED) technology have allowed a company headquartered in the heart of Lancaster County's Amish community to create an alternative to traditional buggy headlights -- a light that lasts about 16 times longer than incandescent headlights.
