The Weather Channel folks are in full swing orgy mode with the doom and gloom, making it sound as bad as they can.

Yep, it was raining. Yep, the wind was a good breeze. He made a big deal that the wind speeds were "now approaching 25 mph!!!" Oh My God. Abandon all hope.
We had wind in Las Vegas yesterday that had gusts to 35 mph. Oh My God!!! Don't send Jim here, he could not take it.
Then JimBo made the BIG statement, the hook to make you come back after the commercial break (4 minutes worth), "We'll tell you what the Mayor is worried about after we come back!"
Jim, I just cannot guess what the mayor of that town is worried about. Sorry, you have me completely stumped!!!
The Ozone hole over the Antartic? No?
The chicken sh!t 'Rat state senators from Texas? No?
The Ethopian kid with a grain or rice stuck sideways in his throat? No?
Gosh, Jim, I give up!
Oh, wait a minute! Could it be that little Cat 5 hurricane storm you folks been hyping for 3 days, that has now turned into a lowly Cat 2?
You can almost see / hear the dejection in their voices.
Not to minimize the possible impact of a Cat 2, but then again I made a conscious decesion to not live on the east coast.
Too much effect on the Ozone hole.
