You think Texas would have checked his resume before they hired Brown. Why hasn't he ever won a conference championship? Why didn't he ever beat Florida State? Why did he have such a horrendous record against ranked teams?

I'll be damned if I could tell you why they had so much trouble against FSU. I followed Carolina then because a kid from my hometown (Leon Johnson-now with the Chargers) played halfback and Carolina would play the Creminoles close every game. But it always seemed that Brown did not have any idea about how to move the ball against them. I remember several times where he would call ineffective plays on first and second downs and then give the ball to Leon on third and eight. Leon would gain 5 or 6 and then Carolina would punt. I wondered why a high profile program like Texas would hire Brown. I can't see him staying for long. BTW Brown also coached my alma mater, Appalachian State, for a short time and still owns a chevy dealership in Boone.
