This is sick. Poor kitty.

Free kitty compost? Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

The post I was going to write mentioned how I really like my cats, but it was tough to compose because I was laughing so hard, so I just gave up & pinged you instead.

I showed the picture to the girls this morning, and in between giggles they tried to bring forth a little indignation, but it just wasn't happening.

This is the sort of scenario that will test a person. I remember a couple years ago the KEZI TV news reporter was trying to read a story about a tragic death somewhere about the area, a freak accident of some kind. But the story had an element that would have been funny under other circumstances, falling off or through a roof or something like that. The circumstances must have put some kind of a funny picture in his mind that wouldn't go away, and he was giggling uncontrollably through the story. I imagined the dead person's relatives seeing the broadcast, and wondered what their reaction would be.

Just about an hour ago I went to the little store on the corner and it was unusually busy. As I was walking into the front door there were a couple younger guys in a car who were getting uptight because they wanted to back out of the parking area into the street and another car waiting to get into the drive up lane was blocking their view. His response was to put it in drive & floor it & burn some rubber in some sort of attempt to show the offender how tough they were. Instead, they high centered the car on one of the little cement curbs they put in the front of the spaces to keep people from hitting the store, and in the process came within a couple inches of running through the front door - and me. My fight or flight switch was set on fight today so I gave them a couple lungs full of harsh words as I contemplated kicking the crap out of the driver. I have never struck another person - ever - but sometimes it's fun to make somebody think they are going to get it. It seemed as though whatever difficulty they first had backing into the street had vanished, and they were gone in a flash, leaving only a few small parts behind from the underside of their car.

The whole incident came close to being one of those events you see where a car plows through a storefront, and those stories are always funny, I don't care who you are. If that had actually happened, I probably would have been under the car, but most would probably still laugh when they saw the scene on the evening news. In fact, a person stuck under a car can be a funny thing all by itself under the right circumstances, as you know.

The moral, if there ought to be one, is that sometimes tragedy is just funny, and if it is, maybe the smart thing to do is just let it be. Other times a creative sort can take someting unfunny like this and make people laugh. I'm not convinced that's an altogether bad quality.
