Interesting...Both of our dogs act like that when it is raining, or has rained. They do NOT want to get their paws wet (but they do like to dig in the outside water bowl and splash the water all over themselves and each other). They will stand stubbornly on the deck, eyeing the back door, refusing to take one step into the yard. I have to stand there until they figure they'd better take care of business, if they want to get back inside anytime soon.

that is DEFINITELY his M.O. also. when i need to leave for work in the AM it definitely grates on me, bc i don't have the time for him to sit there and contemplate whether he feels like pooping or not. i haven't heard from xshub that there was any inside pooping, so maybe he did ok after i left to take xsteen to school and went on to work. all hell could break loose after i leave there in the AM with xsbrownie, xsboy, xspup and xshub. you just never know!
