On the radio today, I caught a host mentioning, as if in passing, that Bustamante has long been a member of some club or organization that limits membership on some artificial basis (i.e. is exclusionary). Can any Cali confirm or deny?

He was a member of a radical group that espouses returning California and parts of other states to Mexico,,not a bad idea in my mind except for the Arizona and Colorado parts, I like them.

Uhm, so you hide in your native
village and come out occasionally to start vanity threads? This question has been answered on every Bustamonte thread for the past month!

During several days in May, 1943, all 8,000+ Jews in Pabianice were marched to the trains by the Nazis and like-minded Poles, shipped to the camps, and subsequently murdered. Among them was my father's family.

I know (not about your father's family of course.) And by the way, while we are quick to accuse "Poles" and "Ukrainians" and others of some unspeakable crimes, can we perhaps identify those mysterious "
the Nazis"? Were they Martians?
A little history. The widespread use of the term "Nazi" was promoted during the early post WWII period by the Soviet propagandists to protect in the public's mind the reputation of the Soviets' best allies to the East of the Berlin Wall, and avoid associating them with Hitler's minions. The scheme worked better than expected, as we see the use and avoidance widely spread here today in the US. Words matter.
