Personally I don't care one way or another - i spent too many years being the only female in a building of men with only one bathroom - that I got used to it
Hubby and I had a great laugh the other day. I had left the seat up after cleaning - the puppy thought it real cool! I heard water splashing and new hubby wasn't in the kitchen or bathroom so I went in search of the sound. There was cinder reaching with all her length to get her head in there for a drink and splashing water EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

our two newest cats, Lo Mein and Chop Suey do that too. we have to keep the thing flushed for them. sometimes they prefer it. but it's my house and I leave the seat up.

thankfully, lucius is too short to drink from the toilet and too short to get anything off of the kitchen table. unlike his predecessor! he was beside himself when i served horsdoerves on the coffee table though, bc that is just right for easy access!
