I will try to be adroit in this response. You see, I often pen replies to this forum expressing my opinion on many topics but even if I comment on a current event I run the risk of having my comment removed and being kicked off for a penalty period because my comments are considered 'vanity' posts. There is no appeal process. Today is my first day back from such a vacation.

Although I am adroitly trying not to be kicked off again, I think this process should be modified to allow posters the opportunity to express themselves without fear of being repremanded.

I also think Bill Clinton was the worst thing to happen to this country in history and President Bush is the best, I had to adroitly throw that in.

Well, I always figure if I want to give my opinion/vanity post, I am going to keep it to the General Interst side of the forum. That way I don't annoy the powers that be.

Don't know details of each occurrance, but it seems the preference on the forum is for "new" (previously unpublished) article or writeup's from the readers are treated a lot like the old "vanity press" ...

You can write (submit) almost anything as an "original" document/article (rather than referencing a "news" article published in the mainstream press/TV/news, but you need to label your article/thread as a "vanity" ....

Then agian, there's that new section where several people routinely are writing FreeRepublic personal "columns" as threads. Haven't done that myself, but check them out. Most often, these "columns" appear Sunday nights late.
