Nice...hadn't seen that map in awhile.
See the little specs of red up in northeastern VT? That's where I live. Too bad the rest of the state is such a cesspool...and has control of the politics. Sigh.

See the bottom corner of Wisconsin? That's my cesspool. That little bit of blue. That's Milwaukee liberalism!

To: RosieCotton
Milwaukee is a great city, I just can't stand the politics. Yes, it's very irritating.

Where is the most Republican/conservative area in the country? Which do you want, Republican or conservative?
Lots of Republican areas. Very few, if any, conservative areas.

Certainly not where I live, that's for damn sure.
Pick anywhere in the Red Zone I guess. Probably rural areas around Utah, Texas, Idaho, and all those states in the middle of the country.

I've got a couple of (probably worthless) theories about this, Miss Rosie. One, libs tend not to be self-reliant entrepreneurs (they tend to hate them, for some reason), and generally you need to be pretty entrepreneurial (i.e. useful) to get by comfortably in a rural area. The work's too hard for most of them, too. Two, it's easier to buy your commie propaganda crap books at big book stores, so libs need a more urban area for those. Three, if a lib is feeling insufficiently outraged and/or guilty about the outrage du jour, they can find examples of that outrage more easily in a big city. I could carry on for some time about this, but thinking aboot libs gives me the trots. :^)
