Budge calls this one the furball from hell. LOL!
I kinda messed up the red eye removal I think, but it's still a cute picture. .

Those really are little cuties. I have a kitten calendar in my office, if that tells you anything.

Those are so great - please don't stop.
Shootist - first get an old Shep from the pound or rescue folks, and then get a pup.
Both our poochies are the same age, going on fourteen, and it's going to be very tough going when one or the other crosses the Rainbow's Bridge.
They have been best buds for so very long now.
Just my observation on the matter.
Cheers.

There is a Shepherd rescue in the area. I think it would be a good idea to get an adult dog to begin with, but I'll have to convince hubby, and he can be verrrry stubborn.
Two of our three cats were rescued strays. Our oldest cat is a Maine Coon I bought as a kitten - she is 14 now, and still healthy, other than arthritis, for which she gets Cosequin. It really is hard to lose our little fur friends. I still miss my Tonkinese cat, Petra. She had some type of cancer, and just wasted away.

Those poochies in the pound somehow know what's going to happen if they don't get "chosen" to go to a good home...light's out for me.
I do believe that they know these things, and that they are accepting of whatever critters their new home may have in place - sort of a "live and let live" type arrangement.
(I'm just so glad to be alive!)
Younger types can be added at will after this.
Thanks for loving all God's smaller creatures.
Cheers out there.

I know what you mean about our furry friends. They really are like members of the family. My Nermal is 15 years old and he is in good health, but in a couple of the pictures I took of him today I noticed that he really seemed to be starting to show his age. He has always been the best cat. It will be very hard to lose him.

Cranky aren't we? I just love to hear a rooster crow early in the morning. Of course, I can sleep through most anything. Ummmm, this is the next door family that used to have a rooster...

Good photos of Nermal, SL! What a sweetie.
I lead such an exciting life - went shopping for a new mattress set today. Costco has some good deals on Sealy Posturpedics.

Jim you know our local SPCA Shelter is a huge shelter and they had taken in hundreds of animals. Some of them from the Barrier fires. Then parts of our City started to burn and they were brought more pets. All kinds. And they were able to foster out their overflow. Would you believe that our SPCA got evacuated last night?!!! They have taken all the animals to the Parkinson Recreation Centre that were in the Shelter. I'm hoping that they will be able to take them back to the Shelter after tonight. Tonight will likely really tell the tale. Also, I went grocery shopping and left home here at 4:45 and there was a small fire up on the hills on the Westside, my side.!! It was quite far away but I could still see the smoke. I listened diligently on the car radio as local people were calling in the specifics. They IMMEDIATELY sent out water bombers and fire trucks etc. As of now, it looks like they have it contained. I want to hear that they have it OUT though. Geez this is terrible.

Libby your cat and kitten pictures are just the BEST!! I grow catnip in my yard too and when I pick some and bring it in - my three just go all weird. They begin by getting that ears slanted out, eyes wild and then they tear around for awhile before collapsing on the spot for a nap. Any postion they collapse in will do.!! Mine just eat every leaf I give them. Daisy starts to roll around. LOL There is nothing better to get your cats to: a) exercise and b) put on a real show!!
