Well, the only ones I can think of are JFK and his brother Joe, Jr. who was killed in service; also a descendant of Teddy Roosevelt was part of the invasion of Normandy I believe.

Don't forget GHW Bush; the youngest Naval flyer in WWII.

You have named some well-known men who served in the military. There are probably thousands from "rich" families who are not celebrties or well-known.

Remember, to a Liberal a "rich" person is one who has two nickels to rub together--an entire different meaning than to conservatives.

Another one is John F. Kennedy, Jr., editor of the failing George magazine, failed bar exam twice, crashed his plane killing him, his wife and sister-in-law. Never served in any political office. Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent to find the plane, millions of taxpayer dollars spent bringing his body to the surface and millions of taxpayer dollars spent taking his surviving family out to sea to blow out his ashes over the ocean. All this for an ordinary hapless individual who just lucked out and had the word "Kennedy" attached to his name.

"Don't forget GHW Bush; the youngest Naval flyer in WWII."

I am sorry, I did forget him. And I guess we should remember John Kerry too, as bad as he got later, and is now, I guess he was pretty brave then. And the other Kerry, the one who was the governor of Nebraska, no?, who's now the pres. of the New School, I remembered his name until John started running for pres, is it Edward? Edwin? There are many, many others.

My dad wasn't rich or famous, but he was in the Navy, likewise my grandfather (german born), my brother-in-law (his wife says it "saved his life"), my cousin-in-law (he's a real right-winger, and became a doctor too), my aunt was a WAVE, and my uncle was in the Army.

You could never pay anyone enough money to be in Military service, or be a police officer or fire fighter (I'll just be politcally correct now for one second, because I do want to include the women who serve) all one can do to make their jobs worth it is give them the R E S P E C T they deserve.
