I just read a message that a guy heard on CTV was with Canada's Defense Minister, John McClennan (not Energy Minister), but he was emphatic that he had been told "by authorities in the US" that the fire was at a power plant in PA. CTV just reported that the Nuclear Fire story has NOT yet been confirmed by ANY American source. CNN did have the same rumor in type pass by the screen momments ago.

wear the foil proudly with lead lining IF in this case we have something of a fire in a nuke plant which I am prepared to say is as certain as the lightning strike theory.

This whole power outage reminds me of the AIRHEAD Liberal waitress we met last year while on vacation in Pacific Grove, Calif. The elec. at her restaurant was off due to a terrible storm. She said "I'm not all that attached to electricity!" What a moron. THIS is what happens without electricity. Excuse her, she is probably tree sitting now.... She deserves a Darwin award! I wanted to ATTACH her to some electricity!

First the Canadians said that the Niagara Mohawk plant got zotted. Then it was a PA plant catching fire. After that, they were claiming it was the Niagara plant that had caught fire.
Zero credibility!

Pataki just said it wasn't the Niagara plant so I suppose we can count that out as a cause.

Diane Grover, spokeswoman for the Canadian defense department, said Canada "considers this an act of nature in the Niagara region on the U.S. side of the border. It has caused a cascading power outage affecting 9,300 square miles," she said.
Grover said the power company, Ontario Hydro, was in the process of separating itself from the American power grid in order to restore electricity to its customers.
An official at the Ontario power company agreed, saying the problem originated elsewhere. "We're confident that the trigger for this widespread outage did not occur on our system," said Al Manchee. "There was no indication that there was anything wrong in our system prior to the outage."

I've worked in some of the power plants in that area as a consultant, some of that equipment is ancient
That area has most of the oldest plants in the country, some of them originally built by Westingouse & Edison

A retired FBI agent told me late yesterday afternoon that a source with the anti-terrorism task force told him that the whole thing started in Pennsylvania. I discounted that when I hadn't heard any more about that being the origin, but now...
