Vanity: Illegal to back into my garage???

First, please forgive me if I posted this question in the wrong place or with the wrong settings. It's just a stupid question.

I was out washing my car when a neighbor (who I don't know too well, but there is no ill history) stopped by and said it was illegal for me to back the car into the garage!

He claimed the fumes (CO I suppose) would get into the garage and harm people. He says he wasn't going to "turn me in or anything," just "letting me know."

I've never heard of anything like this and a quick net search turns up nothing.

I only halfway consider this credible because I live in Monkey, I mean, Montgomery County, MD, where if it isn't legislated or taxed, it doesn't exist!

Anyone know more about this?

Actually it's illegal to back OUT of your garage.
In fact if you are involved in backing out and have an
accident, YOU will be held responsible.

Don't ask me how I know this, my insurance rates took
years to recover.
