Stoopid women!!!
It's looking like Jon and Buron will be the final 2. Sandra who has yet to win immunity will probably go next, then I think they will cut Lil loose. Lil, who is the least deserving person to ever make it this far on Survivor. I remember reading the only reason she got voted back in the game is that the other 2 women couldn't stand being around her at the hotel.
I think if Jon's lie holds up he will wind up with the million.

Thanks. You are right, that sucks. I always like the Chancellor even if he did like Andrew Savage. (Oh and was a force for pure evil in the known galaxy which might explain... No, in that case he would have liked jon.)

I know Jon is the player everyone hates right now, but I think he's playing the game great.
When he makes it to the final two spot, I expect him to use the same argument that the first Survivor winner used. Yeah I lied, yeah I manipulated, but I played the game better than you. You need to vote for the person who played the game the best.
And when those whiny questions come up about "You lied to me" or similiar, all he needs to say is "Yeah, I lied to you. I played the game better than you did. Vote for me."
He's not going to be well liked at the final vote anyway, so I hope he stays tough. I'll lose respect for him if he goes touchy-feely at the end.
I hope Jon wins. The others don't deserve it.

" . . .but he will have a say in who wins the big prize right? "
Right. It will come down to two people. At that tribal council the two that are left will make their cases as to why they should be the one to win the million dollars. Then the jury votes FOR the person they think should win -- or, as will probably be the case for this group, the one they dislike least.
Harmless Teddy Bear said that Jon is the worst contestant they have had on Survivor. I don't quite agree. I think he is the worst PERSON to be a contestant.
And that is what I like about this game. It is a microcosm of our society and we get to a little insight into people's true nature. Point of fact: IN the first survivor their was a female lawyer with all the stereotypes. Thought she was going to be the leader. Got dumped post-haste because people saw her for the Hilary she was -- then later tried to sue Survivor. Wahahahahahaahaha. So typical.
It would seem unlikely that Jon would win if he is one of the final two, but remember, we know a lot more about what he has been doing than they do. Why he made it to the merger I will never understand. He had Rupert completely tipped. Jeff Prost was/is probably pulling his hair out hoping that Jon won't win. Because people like my wife keep saying, "If Jon wins I'm not watching anymore."

"I was just thinkin'.....if I were on that island holding that gun, it would take ALL my strength to keep from firing that flare into Jonny's hair and watching him dance like an flaming idiot."
Bwahahahahahaha!! Once correction -- not "like" an idiot, but like the idiot he is.

Now that it's 3 to 2, if these women don't wise up next episode, I'll have lost a tremendous amount of respect for the fairer sex. Surely Darrah and Lil will both figure out that Jon and Burton are tight? Won't they?

That was such a rip off! Even the contest for the visit to a spa was a set up. Four women and two men and it works out the women get the coins 1 and 2 and the men each get the 3 - to make a reasonably even team. That one incident showed this whole show is orchestrated right from the get go and the "contest" is a done deal before it starts. I know they go through the motions, but after getting to know the survivors who are left it isn't hard to know the performance levels for teams. Bah....another scam.
Jon is definitely the meanest but "mean" seems to get the attention from an audience. I guess he is playing the game is it should be played, but the Grandmother's death was way over the top. He is pretty "disturbed" being able to lie about something that serious. Wonder what he is like in the real world.
I agree with everyone the women have lost their head. Maybe brain parasites? Those two guys should be long gone, but I think the women are afraid of losing their fisherman - which Burton is - but they could boot Jon off and lose absolutely nothing but an empty package of skin and hair.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr Have a great Friday everyone!

Oh and Lee? I'm with your wife about not watching if Jon wins (but in all honesty, I am too nosy to get all the way to the end without seeing the final show). But I will NOT ENJOY IT! :o)

I'd almost stopped watching after John's grandmother "died"... But I'm still hanging in there. This will probably be the last season I watch.
Thing is, I was originally attracted to Survivor for its 'office politics in miniature' aspect. There were effectively two types of games going on. Some tried to be the best Survivor - catch food, build shelter, play the games hard, etc. They hoped to win people's respect and admiration, and advance that way. The other game involved building coalitions, or getting yourself involved with whoever was leading at that time. In the last two seasons especially, this second game has come to dominate, and it has ceased to be fun to watch.
The early seasons had a good mix of the two types. Richard Hatch may have been a schemer, but he was also the best fisherman on the team. And Rudy and Susan were both hard workers. In Season 2, Colby and Tina both obviously worked at coalition building, but also worked fairly hard at surviving. Now, though, we don't even have actual coalitions, which might imply loyalty and mutual work. It's just lie, backstab, and manipulate.
So, I think this one will be it for me.

It would seem that way, but how do you set up a random drawing of coins from a hat?

$100,000
Any arrangements to share prizes, etc. are grounds for disqualification, if that was what you were thinking.

The re-union show is going to be must-see tv. The ones that were around when the big lie about Jon's grandmother was brought out are going to freak when his granny shows up in the studio. As much as I detest him, Jon is doing what Richard Hatch did, only he's more up-front with his bs. I keep wondering if Osten is even going to be invited to the show. With all that's involved in selecting contestants, CBS should have the right to keep him away from the gathering.

"...What's the second place winner get $$$$..."
Which begs the question, what is the breakdown for all of the contestants from the first to be voted out to the winner?

I have this sick feeling that it will be Jon and Lil as final 2. I might even vote for Jon because I think Lil is so horrible. At least Jon has been smart.
To: Lee'sGhost; ken5050
Lee's Ghost: I missed the draw - must have been getting some coffee - you are right, it must be been legitimate, but it seemed so "contrived".
Ken: First prize is 1 million, Runner up - $100,000. All the others who are booted off get consolation prizes of $2,500 for the first one kicked off, and they go up from there but not as high as the $100,000 for the "loser" in the last two left.
I wonder if that goofy muscle man who was the world's biggest weenie got any "consolation prize" for being a quitter. I never heard so much whining. "My muscles are caving...blah blah blah."
I went on Google to find out the dollar amount for the prizes - there are so many links but they are all betting and prize winning to play along with the Survivor program.
Weird stuff. Lucky I'm not a gambler (too dumb) or I may have not made it back here...lol

Harmless Teddy Bear said that Jon is the worst contestant they have had on Survivor. I don't quite agree. I think he is the worst PERSON to be a contestant. I said that? I think he is not too bright because he takes chances when he doesn't have to for little reward and doesn't seem to realize that his slime is going to come back to haunt him if he makes it to the final two (ick ick ick!) but I don't think I said he was the worst contestant on Survivor. That honor would go to Osten.

If
either of the two guys wind up in the final 2, the women should be given awards, too. First place:
"Most Stupid Quad of Women Ever Assembled in History."Total IQ Summation for these four - somewhere south of 200.

You wrote something earlier about the people on Survivor being a microcosm of our society as we really are today. I think you are correct, as I see the same behavior used on internet discussion forums where anonymity guarantees safety. I confess to aggression I didn't know I had unless angry with a significant person in my life, but with complete strangers? Yet it exists within.
I never thought about the word inhibition much before except one lost it through various means of intoxicants and medications, but perhaps it is a good thing the majority of us have such an "off" switch in our systems to guarantee we aren't all creating chaos on the streets.
I have been at some heavy family disturbances, but nothing like these groups we see vying to win a million by being the crudest, baddest human on that particular island.
Time to restore our dignity and humanity if this is the future for us. The little petrie dish of hate is an unsettling view of our current social structure if the truth were out front. I think it very sad.
