We're blind as bats, which makes up for the braces, I suppose.

I got my braces and first pair of glasses within the same month - I had just turned 15.

I got my first pair of glass at 10. They were ugly. Wouldn't wear them. Finally got contacts at age 13. Doc told me I would be blind by the time I reached 30. Actually, my eyesight is better today than it was at 13. Some docs forget they leave an impression on young children.
