Same here. Our dogs never get chocolate or any other kind of sweets, but do get leftover meat, etc. They are particularly fond of scalloped potatoes and fresh cooked Texmati rice. No, they aren't overweight (yet).

The carbs will make those pups chunky! I overdid the carbs yesterday, and am feeling pretty chunky today...Had baked ziti last night...it was yummy, but the scale protested this morning! And I'm meeting Flurry for Mexican today at lunch.

i was going to ask how you all felt about giving dogs real food. the breeder told me she cooked fresh chicken daily for xs2pup and his family, and beef hearts on special occasions. i know that the old puppy K teacher at the vet also was all in favor of giving real meat to them, since she considered all dogs, wolves in puppy coats. but the snooty vet that i got at Lucius' last appt was pretty firm in stating that he needs to stick to dog food. well i do make sure he eats his portion of dry food every day. i either chop the chicken or beef up very fine to mix in with the dry to get him to eat it all, or i wait til he eats the dry food to get the other. i was just curious what you guys felt about it.
