Ares was the god of war and discord. Surely you are thinking of Apollo?

CLINT BLACK: Something That We Do

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
I still believe the words we said
Forever will ring true

Love is certain, love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
But it isn't something that we find
It's something that we do

It's holding tight, lettin' go
It's flying high and laying low
Let your strongest feelings show
And your weakness, too

It's a little and a lot to ask
An endless and a welcome task
Love isn't something that we have
It's something that we do

We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently

The way we work together is what sets our love apart
So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start

It gives me heart remembering how
We started with a simple vow
There's so much to look back on now
Still it feels brand - new

We're on a road that has no end
And each day we begin again
Love's not just something that we're in
It's something that we do

We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently
The way we work together is what sets our love apart

So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start

Love is wide, love is long
Love is deep and love is strong
Love is why I love this song
And I hope you love it too

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
Love isn't just those words we said
It's something that we do

There's no request too big or small
We give ourselves, we give our all
Love isn't someplace that we fall
It's something that we do

Try the old Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle song, "For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her".

Ares was the god of war and discord...

Clearly I was mistaken, but perhaps I became confused with Women and War and Discord.. It is possible I just don't know a thing about either Ares or Women... LOL
Apollo is the right guy.. :)

SOUNDLESS

My breath is soundless
he fires a silent world
cradling my love quietly
he is warm comfort
imperfect and peaceful

I got it !! A dear friend helped me re-post the song by Eva Cassidy I had posted on Post #20. I thank my friend sooo much. Hope you enjoy this beautiful voice.

For those not familiar with Eva, she was a young rising star, and died of cancer several years ago at a very young age.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on song. Enjoy !

whoooooooooooooo ooooooo ooooooo

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You'll can tell the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold

So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lay in fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

I've stopped listening to sad, romantic love songs. They only remind me how lonely I am.

Now you made me sad.

For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her

What I dream I had:
Pressed in organdy;
Clothed in crinoline of smoky burgundy;
Softer than the rain.
I wandered empty streets
Down past the shop displays.
I heard cathedral bells
Tripping down the alley ways,
As I walked on.

And when you ran to me
Your cheeks flushed with the night.
We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight,
I held your hand.
And when I awoke and felt you warm and near,
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears.
Oh I love you, girl.
Oh, I love you.

I like this one when I'm down and lonely ...

Boat On The River
Styx

Take me back to my boat on the river
I need to go down, I need to come down
Take me back to my boat on the river
And I won't cry out any more

Time stand still as I gaze in the water
She eases me down touching me gently
With the water that flow past my boat on the river
So I don't cry out any more

Oh the river is wide, the river is touching my life
Like the waves on the sand
All roads lead to tranquillity base
When the frown on my face disappear
Take me down to my boat on the river
And I won't cry out any more

Oh the river is deep, the river is touching my life
Like the waves on the sand
All roads lead to tranquillity base
When the frown on my face disappear
Take me back to my boat on the river

I need to go down, would you let me go down ?
Take me back to my boat on the river
And I won't cry out any more
And I won't cry out any more
And I won't cry out any more

Glad you liked the choice. The song always sounded to me like whoever wrote it was in love.

Same thing for Elton John's "Your Song".
