Two more reports regarding the Kobe Bryant case circulating among part of the national media were debunked Monday.
Media reports that the 19-year-old woman who Bryant allegedly assaulted received a ride home is not the case, sources said Monday. Reports that her clothing was torn are also untrue, sources also.
Sources told the Daily that the alleged victim managed to get herself home by 11:50 p.m., June 30, after ending the shift at the Lodge at Cordillera at around 11:10 p.m.
They also said that while her clothing was disheveled and showed signs that something had occurred, it wasn't torn or ripped, as some reports indicated.
"Some of the reports made it sound like something out of a bad movie," said one source. "It wasn't like that."
The reports are part of a larger set of rumors and gossip that have been circulating across the country about the case. Among them:
- That the alleged victim was in the room two hours. It was only about 20 minutes.
- When she came down, she was hysterical. She was not. Sources said she was in a stupor and a state of shock.
- A few days before the incident, the alleged victim had accused another hotel worker of sexual harassment, getting him fired. Not true, said the man who was terminated. It was not the alleged victim.
Cameras in court
Eagle County Judge Fred Gannett ruled that not only is Bryant required to appear at 4 p.m. Wednesday, he also ruled Monday that there will be cameras in the courtroom.
Gannett denied a motion by Bryant's attorneys asking Gannett to reconsider an earlier order allowing one video camera and one still camera in the courtroom while Bryant is advised of the charges against him, and also advised of his rights.
No, it isn't quite the same. A person with a mental illness may or may not have problems with perceiving reality and/or telling the truth. Many people with mental illnesses have no such problems. However, every adulterer (unless in an open marriage, which Bryant apparently is not, or he would not have to apologize to his wife) is a liar. That's the one obvious difference.
I see your MO. When you can't answer a question, you just spew another of your many personal attacks. Again what is Rita's motive to deliberately lie?
D'oh! What was I thinking!!!??? ;)
OH??? The accuser's been on television??? Another Howlin exclusive!!! What do your sources say, Rita?
So now we're to draw conclusions on what you think the victim will do in the future? The crystal ball system of justice?
Just a wild guess, but you aren't someone who makes his living with logic, are you? 'Cause if you are, I'm bettin' you don't have a house to bet.
How do you know she lied? I can think of several possibilities, and have no way to determine which one is correct at the present time:
1. Cosby made an error in the heat of the moment.
2. Cosby's sources made an error,
3. Cosby lied.
4. Cosby's sources lied.
5. Cosby is right, and the news report saying otherwise is a lie or an error.
What is your source of inside info that tells you that #3 is inevitably the correct answer?
If I remember correctly you are a non-drinker and you said you had more than one drink so being a non-drinker you certainly had a buzz which puts you in the same state of mind as a regular drinker with a higher tolerance who would blow a .08. And you said you felt guilty the next day which meant that you weren't in a state of mind when you drove to feel that way then thereby indicating that you indeed had a buzz. I remember my rebuttle to you shut you up in a hurry so maybe you shouldn't have reopened this flame war.
That's all I'm going to say because this thread is already verring off course and I don't want to contribute to further steering it away from the topic.
You've done enough already, that's for sure. It's bad form to start old flame wars on new threads that are unrelated to the topic of the thread.
So in a case like this, you have to lie to get ratings? Really?
Personally, I think there's enough substance as is to get ratings. I don't see the point of making it up and I have trouble buying that everyone that gets something wrong on a story with as many layers as this one is "lying." I'd say people that rush to that judgement may:
(1) Not make good jurors, and
(2) Are wont to practice hyperbole.
So you're accusing her of deliberately lying for ratings. You Kobe supporters are vicious as hell when it comes to your worship.
This also smacks of reckless hyperbole -- not usually a trait of thinking minds...
In other words, you don't have an answer to why Rita would deliberately lie.
