Our decor, when we are finished with is going to be sort of a combination of hunting lodge and Texas/Southwest country, because the house has nearly all interior walls of rock or pine plank, with pine plank ceilings. Not a lot of choices there, but it's what we can afford, and it looks like it belongs in the hills, unlike a lot of the houses out here that look like someone wore a ball gown to a sheep shearing, if you know what I mean. I do have one semi-frilly room, though-the bedroom and bath our youngest daughter uses when she is here. It even has an iron bed and lace fan valances in the windows. Not my cup of tea, but we told her she could decorate those rooms any way she liked, so she did. I've got to go put spareribs on the grill 'cause hubby will be home in about an hour-back soon.

that southwest/hunting lodge looks sounds gorgeous and perfect for where you live. i have a good friend who is from TX that lives here and she has that sort of motif and i love it.

we have a center hall colonial, i think is what you would call it, it has a curved staircase in the front foyer which is open to the second floor. The living room is modified Williamsburg. Generally i go for more tailored but i have austrian shades in there bc i didn't know what else to do with the palladian window in there.
