"Ishtar" is rivaled only by that horrible mid-60's movie "The Swimmer", as a colossal, time-wasting, stinkeroo, loser movie.
My husband and I rented "Ishtar" one night when everything else was rented, thinking it couldn't be THAT bad.
We were wrong.

I knew someone who had a walk on part in Ishtar that was cut in the final edit. They said it was their big show business break.

I really liked "the swimmer". It is about a man looking backward, realizing there were mistakes along the way and I thought was very insightful. The plot device of him swimming through the neighbors swimming pools was stupid, but the acting was good and the themes were good.

"The Swimmer"
Ohmigoodness, I like all the movies everybody here hates, LOL.
Hey, the Swimmer WAS a lot of 60s psycho-babble, but it had Burt Lancaster in a bathing suit for the ENTIRE PICTURE! Now that beats naked J-Lo anyday!
Another really bad movie that hubby and I hated was "Being There" with Peter Sellers and Shirley McLaine. I actually rented this TWICE, having heard it was great and liking Sellers a lot. Hubby was about ready to smack me the second time I came home with it. We watched it too, again; and it DID really stink, as we knew.
I have yet to live that one down!
