Gigli: the next Rocky Horror?

There is so much hype that this movie sucks that I have to ask this question. Is Hollywood appealling to the grade B crowd? "Showgirls" was pornographic and pathetic (as opposed to "Basic Instinct" which in spite of the porn was a realy good yarn). Yet they bothered to make a DVD of this piece of sh*t. "Pearl Harbor" (also with Ben Aflek) was an insult to the veterans of the event and a mockery of "Tora, Tora, Tora" yet even I have the DVD! There are people out there that love crap movies and make "cult" status to them. Could this be one?

Bad movies abound. One need only to look at "Mystery Theater 3000" on the SciFi channel. They have an audience. "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour and Superman sucked as much as it was sappy. The critics booed. We watch to see the train wreck. "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective" sucked, was trashed by the critics, but it made Jim Carry a star!! And they made a sequal that was even worse!!!! All of this trashing might only prove to draw the audience. This could lead to the cult status of this flick. 5 years you to could be going to it with your raincoats and day old toast!!

"The Swimmer"

Ohmigoodness, I like all the movies everybody here hates, LOL.

Hey, the Swimmer WAS a lot of 60s psycho-babble, but it had Burt Lancaster in a bathing suit for the ENTIRE PICTURE! Now that beats naked J-Lo anyday!

Another really bad movie that hubby and I hated was "Being There" with Peter Sellers and Shirley McLaine. I actually rented this TWICE, having heard it was great and liking Sellers a lot. Hubby was about ready to smack me the second time I came home with it. We watched it too, again; and it DID really stink, as we knew.

I have yet to live that one down!

The principle lesson of "Manos" was the demonstrated high-technology method for delivering pizza.

That was an awesome movie, but haven't seen it for years. Is it out on DVD anywhere?
