The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that a script for a big-screen version of "The Dukes of Hazzard" is in the works, with Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker both interested in the lead roles of the fast-driving cousins.
Anthony Anderson ("Barbershop") will star as Boss Hog. The CBS TV series ran from 1979-85.
And here's a kicker: The trade also reports that Britney Spears may be interested in playing the role of Daisy Duke.

It is not the shoes that I was thinking of being filled.
Although Daisy was born (I think) in South Dakota, I saw an interview of her Father who lives in Pensacola. As might be expected, he didn't like those shorts.

I'd hit the abuse button, but I seem to have gouged out my eyes with an ink pen & can't see it.

IIRC, there was big controversy about the length of them shorts. CBS brass didn't want them, show producers did, I think. Ironically, the shorts are one of the shows trademarks. Coveralls wouldn't do Daisy justice now, would they?

    Well? We're waiting..............
And if you don't post the picture, I'll do a response that includes a really wide single word that will screw up your "my comments" page until you've posted enough answers to cycle it off the bottom.
What will they re-name the Boar's Nest? I guess NSync and SnoopDogg will close the show....
The more I think about it, the movie is a bad idea....

There's something I like about her...I just wish I could put my finger on it.

Didn't the guy who played Cooter run for Congress against Newt Gingritch at some point?

Quater Oat man might be ok, but Denver Pyle was an original.Quaker oat man has the look but I don't know if he can pull off that particular southern twang the way Pyle did.

Up in VA - Ben Jones ran as a Dem in 92. He just got shelled by his own party for including the Gen. Lee in his latest campaign. The Dems made an issue of the "racist" CBF on it's roof.

I gotta disagree with you on that one. Seeing Britney without almost any clothes on would be the only reason I would want to watch.

"Now wait a minute. I happen to think Britney might make a fine little Daisy Duke."

Yes, I could go for some of that -- in the movie, I mean.

Cameron Diaz as Daisy: you have to imagine those jeans as cut-offs.

Before there was Daisy Duke there was Mary Ann on Gilligans Island.
When I was a teenager I used to watch that awful show just to see Mary Ann in those shorts. I happened to see a re-run on tv this afternoon and Mary Ann's weren't quite as tight or short as Daisy's but I believe she filled them out even better.
