Rapid Response Propaganda Team
Elephant Party ^ | 7/28/03 | Jagrmeister

I'm starting a new site... Elephant Party - designed as an activist network of Republicans to spread the truth about the political issues of the day. I created the site because I realized that we need to counteract the liberal spin put on political issues by the left-wing newspapers, network news programs, and magazines. Here's what I hope to do with the site: First, I'm aggregating the best conservative "blurbs" from the Web. What are "blurbs"? Blurbs are political cartoons, pictures, animations, jokes, or short text write-ups that advance the Republican point of view on the political issues of the day. The hope is that enough conservative activists will take this content and forward it to friends, colleagues, co-workers, family members, whomever to get our message through. The great thing about "blurbs" is that they don't take long to read and work great with people who don't have time to study the issues in depth. The "blurbs" aren't meant to be used with die-hard liberals- time is wasted trying to convince these people. It's more for appealing to middle-of-the-roaders. I've just come up with the idea and the beginnings of a site. I'm still looking for suggestions on the core idea. Also, I have a few sites where I go for "blurbs" and am currently getting their explicit permission for dissemination of the content (most are share-friendly and it's fine to send by e-mail). I'm looking for Freeper feedback like suggestions for other good conservatives sites to get "blurbs" from, thoughts on the Elephant Party concept, feedback on the site itself, etc.

...advance the Republican point of view

Not to be confused with the conservative point of view.

The goal is to win elections. If you think you can get conservative legislation from a Democrat President and legislature, don't hold your breath.

If you think you can get conservative legislation from a Democrat President...

A little touchy aren't you? Who mentioned democrats?---you did, not me. You want support from conservatives for Republicans? Be wiling to discuss relevant concerns of conservatives instead of being sharply dismissive of their queries. I support most GOP candidates but will not act as a shill for all of them without the opportunity for some genuine conservative input. I would like to know if you're getting GOP funding for this project, and, if not--why not? You should for such unbridled loyalty and work effort on the party's behalf.

The main agenda about which I am currently concerned is that the anti-big government issue of conservatives be taken seriously by the GOP. Any effort that blindly and uncritically supports all GOP, then, would miss that opportunity to raise this as an issue.

Thus, in return for such uncritical support, your project deserves to be officially funded by the party for what it is: a functional GOP entity.
