The love of money is the root of all evil, is the actual citation from the gospels.

Money is NOT the root of all evil. But the LOVE of money is. For example, an abortion costs around three hundred dollars, millions of abortions a year; I rest my case.

The root of all evil is, obviously, smoking. /sarcasm

I'd approach this mathematically. For example:
We all know that women want two things: men's money and their time. Let's represent that like this:
women = money*time
However, we all know that time is money. So that means:
women = money*money =>
women = money^2
But, if as you say, money is the root of all evil, then:
women = (sqrt(all evil))^2 =>
women = all evil
There you have it.

Money is merely a convenient and necessary way for individuals and businesses to exchange value in a free market society. The love of money, or greed, is a good thing. Don't let the anti-capitalists define greed as a crime. See
Capitalists vs. Crooks for the truth.

Money is not the root of all evil. It is a form of exchange that is the product of mans ingenuity and ability to create something that is of value to others. The real evil is the thought that money is the root of all evil. This thought leads to the confiscation of money from the most productive of our citizens, and giving it to those who did not earn it. Money is only evil if you did not earn it, instead mooched it from a productive person.
The love of money is also the love of productiveness and using to the full extent one's creative abilities, one's mind and one's body. If you beleive that the love of productivity, resulting in earning more money, is the root of all evil, then I have to ask how else can you measure your own productiveness in our society?
The real evil is the theft from the productive to give to the unproductive, therefore removing all motivation to be creative and realize the potential of the human mind.

The root of all evil is people who not only think they know how others should live, but are prepared to make it mandatory.

For years people have said Money is the Root of all Evil, would that still hold true today?
Actually, I think power is a "root of all evil" as well. Course, it takes money to have power today. You won't have any otherwise. LOL
Is that U, MG?

It takes a lot of money to root out evil. Maybe the obsession about money is worse than the love of money.
