The last image of similar data about 6 months ago was much less detailed. This one shows a gravitational concentration around Iceland, as if heavy core materials, iron, were nearer the surface or the crust is thinner.

Iceland is a unique geological feature. There is not only seafloor spreading going on there, but there is also a "hot spot" rising up to the surface from deep within the earth, possibly even from the outer core. That is why Iceland is one of the few spots in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that actually sticks up out of the ocean.
