No fireflies there, it's in WA. State and I never saw fireflies till I went South...To far north I think...

We call them lightening bugs here and the kids love to catch them

One year when Jessie was little, she caught a whole bunch and apparently left the lid off the jar when she brought them inside

I didn't realize it till I turned the lights off to go to bed .. and ended up spending the next 3 hours catching them and throwing them out the house ..
