What I Did On My Summer Vacation, Part II.
by R.Cook
We went to Florida again for the second part of my summer vacation.
We drove to Florida on the highway. It was a long drive. We left on Saturday after the 4th of july so there was not very much traffic. We ate lunch on Saturday in a tiny place in south GA. It was dirty but didn't smell bad. They didn't have coffee so we had to go next door to the gas station. We also went to the gas station to go.
Then we got to the condo and unpacked. Then we swam and went to the tourist shops. We went to Pizza Hut for supper. We watched a two of movies, read a Star Wars novel, and went to sleep.
Then we woke up and went to church. It was a sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Mass and the choir sand reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow. The church had two computer screens to translate what the choir was singing as a powerpoint presentation. They didn't help. Even the priest was slow. We ate lunch after Mass and walked along the beach and swam in the pool and watched another movie. I finished the book and started another one. On Sunday night we ate suppper.
On Monday afternoon we woke up and ate lunch. Then we swam and walked and watched a movie. I finished the Star Wars novel and started an Air Force fiction Tom-Clancy-like novel about Dreamland and bombs and missiles and radars and lasers.
On Tuesday I finished the Air Force novel and drove to the Florida Solar Center near Cape Canaveral. That was a library and a training place. I talked to the director and the professors. They were nice. I got lots of papers from the library. I ate grilled fish at the bar at the Ponce Lighthouse. Veronica hates fish. She didn't go with me to the library; she went swimming and watched movies. I started the third Star Wars novel about the Correllian Crisis Series that night.
Wednesday morning we ate breakfast and swam in the pool. I sat in the sauna and used the exercise room. I finished Book III of the Correllian Crisis at Centerpoint and started on Book II. I like reading novels backwards and from the middle: they are more fun to read that way because you have to figure out who all the characters are and why they are in whatever crisis they are in before you get introduced to them. On Wednesday night we drove to Orlando through thunderstorms and watched a play at Sleuth Dinner Theater and ate supper during the play. We got back late. It was dark.
On Thursday we rented recumbent tricyles and drove up and down the beach on them. We swam and sat in the sauna and watched movies. I finished the second book and started on the first in the series. We ate supper at Fridays.
On Friday we ate lunch and went to Ocala and saw Silver Springs and went on boat rides and rode on jeeps with trailers and saw fish and alligators and animals. The animals smelled bad. They were furry. The alligators ate hotdogs. We ate supper at Bennigans.
On Saturday we packed up the dirty clothes and drove home. We ate at Burger King. We drove on the highway. It was crowded in Jacksonville. There was an accident on the other side of the road. It didn't happen to us. There was construction on the other side of the road in Macon. There was no construction on our side of the road.
