Someone other than Cheney?
Posted on 07/07/2003 10:09:15 AM PDT by Lost and Confused
I know that Cheney has said that he will be the candidate again in 2004, but how do you people feel? Who do you think should be the candidate and why?
I don't know if this has been discussed or not because I just signed up two weeks ago. If it has, just ignore this.

Conservatives also try to avoid making gratuitous comments.

I wasn't trying to suggest to release Cheney, just possibly switch him with Rice. And I know I have spelling mistakes, you all are not perfect either. It's my first thing so give me a break.

Why SHOULDN'T it be Cheney?
You don't dump your running mate unless there is a serious problem, and then once you do that you are on the run and they will eat you alive.
Besides Rice would hurt Bush, she's a pro-abort and a whole lot of his base would skip over the ballot spot or stay home rather than cast a pro-abortion vote.

Easy killer, this "thing" is called a "post".
As far as getting a break, you can forget it.
There are a lot of hungry "flamers" on here that are waiting to jump at the chance to belittle you, question your integrity and see if you will disappear. I made it this far, and I still get "it".
Mistakes do happen, and I can be the first to say that is a HUGH problem, and has become VEY SERIES!

It's my first thing so give me a break.Newbies don't get breaks . . . they get indoctrinated. Think of this thread as your 15 minutes of fame. You'll get to share these wonderful moments at freshman orientation.
Welcome to FR!

When's the orientation? I don't want to be late :).

Rice is great in foreign policy, but a liberal on domestic issues. And just because she's a woman and a black doesn't mean that the liberals will vote for her.
Blacks don't support their own if they perceive them as being traitors ... look what they did to Clarence Thomas, one of the best examples of a human being/hero we have today.
Cheney all the way.

I like it too, but I hate the Viking Kittens.
I'm all for Daler Mehndi, though. I mean, he even has his own church.

Yeah, I'm new to the whole forum concept. I see there are some words that I will have to learn. It's like Spanish class during the summer :(

I think Cheney ought to take himself off the ticket. Republicans will be missing a great opportunity if neither Rice nor Powell are in the VP slot.
[/quote]
Powell is pro-abortion, pro-Affirmative Action, and pro-contraceptives. I heard that Rice might be pro-abortion and pro-Affirmative Action. Nominating these people will only encourage many conservatives not to vote, thus ushering in a Democratic administration.
