Even Cassie my Coon Dog thinks that is creepy. She gets along with our 3 indoor kitties, and would not like someone doing that.

I'm glad he's ok too Molly..it saddens me to hear how many are losing their lives to cowardly snipers and the like ! :(

Yes, it is creepier than I had expected. I happen to agree, however, with the poet who said,
"The trouble with
a kitten is that
It soon grows up
And becomes a CAT."

There have been stories from the gulf of "people" (I use the term loosely) using puppies and kittens for shark fishing. Sick bastisches.

Oh no! I haven't read that thread except for the first one or two replies. I don't think I'll be going back there.

You like both. LD likes cats. She doesn't like dogs. In fact, her room was the only room the dogs avoided. Even when I gave them permission to be in there they came in only reluctantly.
I don't like cats. They do seem to like me. I'm not mean to them, but I don't have them living here.

In 1981, people were walking around southern California saying, "We ABSOLUTELY need the B-1, but I can't tell you why." Of course defense contractors and their workers are going to support a president who ramps up defense spending.
But if you go back and look at the ramp up in 1981 in defense spending, it was as you said. There was a big increase in defense spending in the last Carter Budgets and that showed up in the increase in the California economy in 80 and 81. The Carter administration certainly helped the Califorinia defense industry in its last year in office and Reagan had nothing to do with it. Jimmy Carter should get the credit for that as you could note if you looked at the facts.
Many Democrats including Tip O'Neil in the house, and Bob Byrd and George Mitchell in the Senate were really pushing Carter to go along with increased defense spending in the last two years of his term. Carter reluctantly did so. But he did it never the less.
I remember one of Reagan's funny lines. Reagan once admonished John Ashbrook. Ronnie said, "Now don't disparage the Democrats so much, John. They come in mighty handy when we need to raise taxes."
You need to lighten up. Politicians are players ... just like Baseball players. The main thing for the players is to be in the game... not for which team they play.
You will note that the Democrats were in favor of tax cuts for the rich in 1960. JFK cut the top rate by over third. It was the Republicans in 1960 who opposed any tax cuts for the rich unless the budget was balanced and their was a surplus to justify the cuts. By 1980 the parties had switched sides. It was as Reagan said.. "I did not leave the Democratic party.. It left me." He could have said with equal honesty, "I did not join the Republican party.. It joined me."

I have asked to be suspend from FR ....because I'm going to war on that thread. Now this I don't understand. Why ask to be suspended? You know how long you're going to be mad. Why don't you just stay away for that long? Or is it that your posts are going to result in a suspension? That you're going to have your say no matter the consequences? That I do understand.
I apologize for posting that link. Y'all let me know it was not good and I stayed away.

Kitchen cleaned. Last load of dishes in the machine. I'm going to have a beer, watch a movie, and do my mise-en-place for tomorrow. For tomorrow, I am a senior. :>)
