Do we really need 'vomit alerts'?

Question - Do we really need to post articles with added extra non-news comments such as 'vomit alert'; 'puke alert'; 'hold muh beer alert'? Can people really take people seriously who post such drivel? What is the purpose? Are we becoming so used to seeing the word 'vomit' splashed across the latest posts that it doesn't affect us anymore?
Also, aren't we conservatives suppossed to have some dignity, grace and a clear non-combative way of communicating with each other? Please post here on the FR as you would speak to your co-workers, friends and family....it would be nice.
Thanks.

"HOLD MY SANCTIMONY ALERT!"
LOL, good one! Sanctimony, I was so happy as a child when I learned this word. Oh how useful a word I knew it would prove to be.

Vomit alert is easier to type than an "Imagine Helen Thomas ( or Hillary) naked alert".

For example, the article I just posted on the mirarcle anti-aging pill could have a DRIVEL ALERT.
To: T Minus Four
Wouldn't they figure that out anyway?

Without barf alerts, how would you know what articles to ZOT?
To: Born in a Rage
I suggest UPCHUCK CHOW as a possible alternative

Born in a Rage, die by the flame! You should have put a barf alert on this thread.

How about "Potential Article to ZOT but I hope not because I'm proud of the post" alert?
To: NEWwoman; John Robinson
Why not? Programs have viewer discretion warnings. Movies and TV programs are rated. Give us a warning so we don't mess up the carpet before we get to a barf bag.Wow. I really like the idea of an FR "rating system"! Very cool
John, could you add something like that? Pleeeeaaaasssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeee :-)
To: Born in a Rage
The posters who use these addenda try to indicate that if you agree with the article you are somehow beyond the pale.
The usual effect these alerts have on me is to indicate that the poster rather than the content is enough to engender a good "upchuck"

"...aren't we conservatives suppossed to have some dignity, grace and a clear non-combative way of communicating with each other?" No guarantee there.
"Conservative" only means we want our God given freedom outlined in The Consitution. Liberals want governement intervention in 100% of everybody else's lives.

it's hard to recommend to people to read the FR when these "regurgitated spew" things are all over the place.
BARF ALERT? (I wonder)

Nice try, but Sabertooth and others have already done threads on this very subject and basically got pooh-poohed. For the record, I'm fine with the alerts.
