Gephardt Issues Order Making Himself President
(2003-06-23) -- Just a day after announcing that he would use executive orders to overturn Supreme Court decisions, Rep. Dick Gephardt, D-MO, announced today that he has appointed himself President of the United States, effective immediately.
"I have duly sworn myself in as president," he said. "Instead of having the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court administer the oath of office, I just issued an executive order effective retroactively in advance."
President Gephardt has already issued an executive order making it illegal to "challenge the constitutionality of my reign as president."

Are you serious?! You don't think that outrageous comment by Gephardt is worthy of breaking news? unbelievable.
If you hate it so much, hit abuse, but please stop whining about it on this thread. Thanks.

Personally, I think the culture is a little too vain to elect the right people for office... I have heard there are stats to back you up on this. Height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc.

"Do you have a problem with George Washington? At least he grasped the constitutional limits of government, unlike Dickie Gephardt."
Actually, I put up Washington's pic, because while he looks kinda of funny, he is the Father of our Country...
You're right about the fact "he grasped the constitutional limits of government", unfortunately a GREAT man like him could never be elected today because of the Hollyweird mentality in the political process today, and the 2 Party system in America has exceeded "constitutional limits of government" for quite awhile now.

What comment did you post that is worthy of breaking news? A parody is not breaking news.
Guess I'll start posting Onion.com articles in the the Front Page News forum.

We all know some posters can do whatever they please. It would just be nice if it were a little more transparent.

Wow- and the article I just posted in breaking news was yanked after 10 seconds. Great job, Moderators. You just proved that some forum members can do whatever they like. So much for the seriousness of FreeRepublic.com

I am still laughing at Dean's comment that he was going to "break into that country club" when asked how he was going to beat established opponents.

Hey Jim... why not appoint moderators who will FAIRLY moderate the message board? This article has been sitting in breaking news for over an hour, posted by a moderator. None of us would ever get away with that... what happened to leading by example?
