Has anybody deduced who you are from your posts?

How careful do you have to be to preserve your anonymity. I regularly watch the identifying details I reveal, thinking I could be found out? How many others do that? Has anybody been ID'd?

Looks like I'm on this thread all alone, so I'll just talk to myself!

I've been ID by my state rep. He could tell from the gun posts I've done, and the fact that I post a lot of semi-local stuff here.
Luckily, I didn't say anything bad about him.

I pretty much use my real name everywhere. Probably not a good idea. It depends how much you value privacy. I don't post my last name since it's extremely uncommon. Some know who I am. Some don't.
I post my first name partly since I'm uncreative on screen names, and mostly because I think it brings more credibility to a post.

I don't think they can track all the in-country stuff (yet) but they can for sure track all the international stuff. Naw, it's against the law to to track US entities in-country or not. Everything else is fair game :)

Mine is easy. Just sound it out. M-s-d-r-b-y. I took out the punctuation and the vowel. Vowels-scmhowels. We don't really need vowels anyway. They are superfluous.

I post with my real name mostly because this was the first internet forum I'd ever participated in. I didn't know any better. :-)
Plus, I'm a writer, so it helps. But if I could go back, I'd change it. As a matter of fact, I've considered it, and I've even asked JimRob once, on a really bad day, if I could change my screen name.

I'm pretty up-front about myself - my real name isn't on the site anywhere, but from my profile page, it'd be easy to figure out who I am.Well no kidding!

Loony as a tune, but we'd expect nothing less.
She's still pleased as can be about the grandbaby, which takes a TON of pressure off me. :)
