What the heck is this?

Yes, I know it is a frog.... But I DON'T THINK WE HAVE FROGS LIKE THIS HERE!

Seriesly, I have lived in Washington state my whole life, and I have never seen anything like this in the wild here. Just little tree frogs. This thing is huge! It was hopping across my yard so I caught it.

That is NOT and African bullfrog. It's just a good old fashioned American bullfrog.

Who's legs I might add would be VERY tasty fried in some butter with garlic.

Its hard to determine without reviewing its anatomy. Please slice it open and post pictures of the inside from numerous angles and I'll let you know.

Oh, it's probably a native, they're just about everywhere. Ponds mostly. Just let it go, it wasn't lost until you picked it up.

Orrrrr... if you can find 2 or 3 more, the legs breaded and pan-fried make a great meal, and they even look enough like chicken legs so they won't freak you out too bad....

Or, ya could just do what I used to do with them when I was a kid, but you'll need some firecrackers for that... ;)

Bullfrogs are found in Washington State. However, they are an introduced (non-native) species. Then again, in regards to Washington State, so am I. ;-)
