No one has asked the question but I will. What lawyers, democrat appointees or republican appointees, in the Justice Department are going after Martha Stewart? Everyone knows the Justice Department is still filled with Clinton appointees. Bill Clinton had all the Republican lawyers fired when he took over. President Bush is too much of a nice guy to do the same. My theory on all the Martha Stewart hub-bub is this: The lawyers going after Stewart are doing so not to punish her for lying or insider trading, they are making a case of Martha Stewart to make President Bush look like a "mean guy"...a "bad guy", President Bush will be painted as an intolerant extremist for going after America's most celebrated pie maker and wedding planner, poor beleagured Martha. After all, it's his Justice Department even though most of the lawyers there are Clinton appointees who have their own agenda, which is to make President Bush look bad. The lawyers at the Janet Reno Justice Department who are pursuing Martha Stewart must know they have a very weak case and putting Martha in jail will not happen. Big deal, insider trading for $200,000 or so worth of stock. It's a no win he said, she said on advice from her own stock broker. Give everyone a break here. This whole endevour is to make the President look like an ogre. It's a typical democrat ploy, reverse psychology on an unassuming public and naive Republicans. Everyone should know that Martha Stewart was one of Bill Clinton's most loyal supporters. She hosted some very high dollar fund raisers at her Studio in Norwalk, Connecticut when he ran for his second term. So why would a democratically appointed lawyers at the Justice Department go after Stewart? Maybe because it's part of the game-plan to chip away at the President's approval ratings. I mean, who would suspect it? The Democratic planted lawyers at Justice Department who are going after Stewart know they don't have a very good case and Martha will end up looking like a poor, mistreated victim. Yes they just convicted her pal (and Clinton's pal) Waskal of insider trading but his case was a lot more serious...Waskal, another democratic crook who will spend his time on a golf course, minimum security prison, probabaly with his own installed hot tub and wine cellar. Finally, when you think of how the Martha Case pales in comparison to the Enron and Global Crossing massive public swindles, all done by crooked democrats (aka Robert Rubin and Company), you have to wonder why and who in Justice is going after Martha.
