VANITY - DYING QUonset (Flowering Cherry) - HELP VANITY

I have recently planted a flowering Cherry. It was doing very well until heavy rains last week. Then the leaves started drooping and turning yellow. On investigation I discovered the poor thing was soaking in water. I installed a drain around its base to remove excess water, but it still has the droops bad. Anyone know how I can save this tree?

First, it has to accept Jesus Christ as it's Lord and Saviour...

Seriously, in your shoes I would call the local garden center and see what they say.

Make sure you didn't plant it too deep. The top of the root ball should be just ABOVE ground level, and then have some mulch piled on top of it. The poor thing may be suffocating more than drowning. You should also check online or with a garden shop as to what sort of pH the tree would like, then test your soil (garden center will be happy to sell you a little tester kit), and supplement the soil if necessary (garden center will be happy to sell you the appropriate supplements). If the location has really rotten drainage that even raising the root ball won't deal with, you may need to move the tree.

Did you find a solution yet? How is the patient doing?

Is the tree small enough to take back out of the ground and put in a pot? If no solution yet, try e-mailing Jerry Baker(jerrybaker.com); he or his assistants are pretty good about e-mailing back within a couple of days.

Tried loosening a large area of soil around the tree with a garden fork and top it all off with some mulch? Your only solution may be to move the tree to a less boggy area. Good luck!
