One of the hot stories for today seems to be.

Another U.S. Soldier Killed in More Iraq Violence
Thursday, May 29, 2003

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A U.S. soldier was killed by hostile fire Thursday while traveling on a main supply route in Iraq, a military statement said.

The brief statement released by the U.S. Central Command (search) said the soldier was evacuated to 21st Combat Support Hospital (search) where he was pronounced dead.

It gave no further details or the soldier's name.

The announcement comes after a sharp escalation in clashes between Iraqis and U.S. troops in recent days.

The latest death brings to nine the number of American soldiers who have died around the country this week. Nearly two dozen others have been wounded.

IMUS had on Jim Miklaszewski trying to prod him into saying this is all Rumsfeld's fault. I don't know why IMUS has it in for Rumsfeld, but is obvious that he does.

This is bad. Bernard McGuirk agreeing with Paul Begala on the issue of IRAQ.

Begala's talking points for today "Where's the WMDs we sacrificed 170 of our soldiers for".
