Help Me Convert One to the True Path

Please suggest some ways I can help a young black woman, a borderline conservative, embrace the Republican Party.

I work with a very bright, focused, together 23-year-old black single mother. I'm really taken with this girl; she made a horrendous mistake, but seems to have had a new dawning of responsibility and virtue since the birth of her child and is looking at the world in a greatly improved way. She stays after work or skips lunch sometimes to talk politics with me, and I find a strong strain of natural conservatism in her--she insists on working instead of taking public assistance, has contempt for people who accept handouts, wants to work hard, wants government to stay out of people's lives, understands that lower taxes yield greater strength in our economy, etc. But her thinking is unclear as yet, her ideas unformed, and the occasional error creeps into her thought processes. I'm looking for some reading material or websites to steer her to so that I'm not (a)hitting her over the head with my crazed right-wing perspective, or (b) getting in trouble with my supervisors for proselytizing on the job. Most of my own books, newsletters, and websites are far, far too aggressive to give her. I need to seduce her to voting Republican gradually. This child has a lot of potential and I want to save a soul for Bush (lol), so please, Freepers, help me bring her along. We need all the black conservatives we can get.

Tell her the difference between a RINO and a true Constitutional Conservative. By and large, the modern repubs are nothing more than democrat light, which is to say, they'll do the same things as dems, but, in dribbles and at a slower pace. The result is the same, an ever encroaching governemnt.

As a black man, let me tell you... just help her become successful in life. As her income increases, she'll start to see the light. When I jumped from being a poor ghetto kid (in college) smack into the middle-class, I was shocked at the level of taxation I was hit with. Prior to that, I had paid almost no taxes, and whatever I put out in payroll, I always got back. Then I hit the 33% mark, and realised why "white" people were so mad.

Clock, let me tell you, she's already there even though I think she only makes $23,000 a year. You should hear her rail against "those welfare sluts who sit on their butts all day--and I'm paying for them to sit there! I'm a taxpayer! I have to work all day, why don't they get a damn job!" she cries. God bless her. This is a really together kid and we are working on ways to get her some schooling though she's working full time and has a baby and no father for it. She is smart, making plans for real estate investments, saving her money, keeping her credit straight. Only thing is, she screams if you say she is embracing conservative values. She wants to do some medical thing, like practice manager for a physician group, so I am talking to a black doctor girlfriend of mine about how to get her the necessary training. Though frankly I would rather she would go to law school or something. She says when she's president I'll be her white Condi Rice, LOL!
