Vanity: Question on homeschooling in Rhode Island

Posted on 05/21/2003 1:20:25 PM PDT by ozaukeemom

A friend of mine is being transferred to southern Massachusetts. They do not want to live there. They are thinking of Rhode Island. However, they homeschool their children. She has heard that in Rhode Island there are some really strict rules in regards to homeschooling.

I would love to hear from anyone who does homeschool in Rhode Island. Either to give some insight as to what they need to be aware of or if it is even feasible. Thank you in advance!

And sorry for the vanity, but I knew this was the best place to get information straight and upfront.

Has your friend consider living in New Hampshire? Rhode Island is really a suburb of Boston.

Actually, I suggested New Hampshire. The name of the town their company is moving to is Raynham Center. It looked like it would be much closer to Rhode Island than New Hampshire. I think they are in for some major shocks when they do move, regardless. Right now they are in Indiana, a quiet town, low cost of living etc.

Thanks for your help!
