Well..
My step-daughter was a 'low order Bipolar'.
She was put on Paxil and it was the worst thing they did.
I myself am a 'low order' as well.
(Probably why the two of us were friends as well. We knew what was wrong in each other's heads and knew the 'WHY' of it. the "It takes a monster to recognise a monster' corallory.)
Unfortunately, it runs in my family.
I'm also cursed with a rather strange sense of humor, so there's no telling what is attributable to bipolar and what isn't. *chuckle* Keep 'em geussing!
The info on xanax and docepin was hard won by myself.
Having been put on it when I was younger (to treat a mild bout of insomnia of all things!) I know that it's pretty bad stuff.
Oh, and Paxil itself can also 'bring out' latent psychosis.
That's in it's own literature, but it isn't worded that way.
I read that part and told my step-daughter to get off the junk instantly.
Her pshrink said to 'wean' off of it.
Yeah, right.
You're better off dropping it cold turkey and dealing with it.
(I have a grandmother who is certifiable. My cousin, sister, and myself are wondering just HOW inhertiable it is. Guess I get to find out, since I'm the oldest. And it's the nice insidious type that gets more obvious with age.)
So I kinda have a personal stake in the Prozac deal there.
If I can keep one person off of it, I've completed my mission.

inhertiable = inheritable.
Cripes, I gotta slow down my typing.

You do have to wean off... my close friend was taking way too much of the stuff and quit cold turkey, could not sleep at all, and shot himself 3 days later. Four years later, he only takes xanax sometimes - to fall asleep. I wish there was better help for him.
