New York City Natives, The Drakes, were recently filmed by VH-1 for a program on up and coming bands. VH-1 interviewed the band in various locations and captured the band performing live in NYC.
VH-1 also scheduled filming at a city-wide event for Sopranos star James Gandolfini in upstate (ONEONTA) New York.
The Drakes made several on-air appearances at commercial radio stations in the South and Northeast, including Q108 of Clarksville/Nashville, Tennessee, WLIR on Long Island, NY and WFNX, which is simulcast from Boston throughout New England. There was a tremendous listener response to their CD and live performances. On the television front,
The Drakes scored the music for a BBC program on fashion shows in LA, which will be airing as ìThe Good, The Bad & The Uglyî on Discoveryís Learning Channel. In addition, The Drakes were the only indie band to be featured on the Apple Computer QuickTime Hot Picks Page with the first interactive music video, DRAKESTV. For months, the site attracted over a million visitors a day.
The Drakes were recently asked to appear at the International Pop Overthrow festival in Chicago this spring and will also play the festival this summer in Los Angeles, where they last packed clubs thanks to their staunch supporters at Westwood One.
